Descripció general del producteFIBCONET SC APC/UPC fast connector solves two long-standing headaches for FTTH installers: batch-to-batch insertion loss drift, and endface contamination during field inspection. We machine the V-groove from one-piece 304 acer inoxidable, so the groove holds ±0.5 μm tolerance instead of the ±5 μm+ typical of injection-molded plastic. We mold the dust cap from transparent PC, so your field engineer inspects the ferrule endface by eye — cap closed, no dust ingress.
The connector supports single-mode FTTH deployments across ONT home termination, outdoor distribution boxes and ADSS aerial networks. If you supply FTTH projects in the Philippines, Vietnam, or Latin America, you already know the environment — high humidity, salt fog on coastal routes, dusty aerial spans, wide day-night temperature swings. This connector holds ±0.5 μm groove geometry from −40 °C to +85 °C and resists index-matching gel corrosion, so day-one performance is also year-five performance.

If you’re a project contractor loading 5,000 fast connectors onto a truck for a rural FTTH build, you don’t want to find out at node 800 that this batch runs 0.15 dB hotter than the last one. Installers make mistakes. Fiber gets cut too short, cable routing changes, someone drops a tool on the enclosure. With our metal V-groove, you re-terminate the same connector up to 10 times without slot collapse or groove deformation. Plastic V-groove connectors give you one shot, then straight into the bin. Over a project bill of materials, this is real consumable savings.
Index-matching gel softens plastic V-grooves over time. Humid air pushes plastic components toward creep. High-temperature aerial spans over metal ADSS cable make it worse. The housing carries a built-in triple-lock retention mechanism. Once you assemble the connector properly, it doesn’t loosen under vibration, doesn’t slip off during rough handling in the drop cable enclosure, doesn’t come apart when the installer wraps the cable back around a hook. You reduce warranty callbacks. Distributors reduce return volume.

Every FTTH deployment in a dusty or humid environment shares the same field problem: how do you inspect the ferrule endface without exposing it to the environment you’re trying to protect it from?
Standard opaque-cap fast connectors force a three-step ritual — open the cap, inspect (or clean and inspect), reclose. In a windy aerial span or a roadside distribution box, that middle step is when contamination lands on the endface. Field data across FTTH deployments consistently shows dust ingress during inspection is a leading cause of avoidable rework.
Transparent PC dust caps replace that ritual with a single visual check. The installer holds the connector up, looks through the cap, verifies the ferrule is clean and the cleave is flat. Sota 2 segons. Cap never opens. If contamination is present, the installer knows before mating. If it’s clean, the connector goes straight into service.
For distributors, this design also means fewer “the connector was dirty out of the box” complaints from local buyers — because the buyer can see the endface without opening anything.
The V-groove is the fiber alignment reference of any field-installable fast connector. Groove tolerance defines batch-to-batch insertion loss stability, long-term optical performance, and how many field re-terminations the connector survives.
Plastic V-grooves work fine for indoor test environments and low-cycle patchwork. They are not the right choice for outdoor FTTH aerial spans, coastal distribution boxes, or any deployment where the connector spends multi-year service under matching gel, temperature swings and humidity.
