Fiber Optic Splitter

Fiber Optic PLC Splitter Manufacturer — Since 1994

FIBCONET has manufactured planar lightwave circuit (PLC) splitters in China since 2008. Our automated lines produce up to 500,000 PLC splitters per month across four package families — from mini steel-tube types used inside FTTH drop closures to cassette plug-in modules deployed in operator central offices.

Every splitter we ship is 100% hifke foar ynfoegje ferlies on the production line, then verified through high-and-low temperature cycling before packaging. Chips come from a controlled dual supply chain combining domestic Chinese sources (Shijia, Lixin) and Japanese/Korean options (Worriro, IPP) — so we match the cost, lead time and performance profile your project actually needs.

Below are the four PLC splitter families currently shipping to FTTH operators, ODN integrators and telecom distributors across Russia, Latynsk-Amearika, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

What Is a PLC Splitter and How to Choose the Right Type

A PLC (planar lightwave circuit) splitter is a passive optical device that divides one incoming optical signal evenly across multiple outputs, without needing power. In a GPON or XG-PON network, PLC splitters sit between the OLT in the central office and up to 64 abonnees, forming thepoint-to-multipointarchitecture that makes fibre-to-the-home affordable.

PLC vs FBT — When to Use Each

Plug-in / Module Type PLC Splitter út Sina-Fibconet FBT Splitter
Technology Planar waveguide chip + fibre array Two fibres fused and tapered together
Split ratios Powers of 2 (1×2 to 1×64), plus custom uneven ratios via chip design Any ratio: 50/50, 70/30, 90/10, 5/95, 7/93, 12/88
Golflingte 1260–1650 nm broadband Wavelength sensitive; specify 1310 / 1490 / 1550 nm
IL uniformity Very consistent across all outputs Varies with ratio; asymmetric ratios diverge
Cost at high split counts Lower per output above 1×8 Uneconomic above 1×4
Bêste foar FTTH, GPON, XG-PON, dark-fibre distribution Monitoring taps, CATV, non-standard ratios

If you need standard 1×N distribution above 1×4, choose PLC. For asymmetric or non-power-of-2 ratios with few ports, choose FBT.

Note on insertion loss. Our patch-cord line achieves connector IL down to 0.1 dB. This value applies to the connector alone and does not replace the PLC splitter loss budget. PLC IL is governed by the split ratio (see table above), plus a 0.2–0.3 dB connector allowance when connectors are attached.

32 Years of PLC Splitter Production Since 1994

why choose fibconet

FIBCONET began as a PLC splitter factory in 1994, six years before the first commercial GPON deployment. That head start let us build the supply-chain relationships and in-house tooling — housing moulds, alignment jigs, potting recipes — that most fibre passives vendors still buy in from third parties.

Combined monthly output across all PLC package types reaches approximately 1,000,000 units per month, on automated alignment lines where a single operator runs two machines in parallel.

Chip Supply Chain — Domestic and Imported Options

The PLC chip drives 60–70% of the finished splitter’s optical performance. We keep two supply channels active in parallel: domestic chips (Shijia, Lixin) as our default choice for cost, lead time and production availability — current-generation Shijia yield matches import quality — and imported chips (Worriro Japan, IPP Korea) for customers who specify origin or the tightest IL uniformity. Because we also hold contract positions upstream in fibre array (FA) and ferrule supply, our IL uniformity holds across batches without input-geometry drift.

100% IL Testing, Drying Room, and Temperature Cycling

  • 100% insertion loss inspection — every unit IL tested before packaging, not sampled. Test videos provided per batch on request.
  • Optional 3D end-face inspection — surcharge applies; percentage-based pricing depending on inspection coverage.
  • Drying room — every batch held in a dedicated low-humidity room before packing to prevent moisture uptake in the pigtail buffer and connector ferrules. This step is the single biggest driver of long-term IL stability in the field.
  • High-low temperature cycling — batches aged through −40 °C to +85 °C cycles per Telcordia GR-1221 methodology. Screening on some product lines extends to −50 °C for cold-region customers (screening only, not continuous operating rating).

Third-party test reports (electronic, stamped) available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions About PLC Splitter Sourcing

Q1. What is your minimum order quantity for standard PLC splitters?

Standard-ratio cassette and box PLC splitters start from as few as 2 units — sample and trial orders are welcome. Mini and ABS box regular ratios ship from stock. Long-term partners can negotiate consignment or blanket terms. Silk-screen branded steel tubes require an MOQ of 1,000 pieces at no extra cost.

Q2. What is the lead time for a bulk order?

Regular ratios in standard packages are held in stock and ship within days. For a 5,000-piece 1×8 mini PLC order the typical lead time is around 20 days from PO, including approximately one week for raw material staging. Urgent orders can be prioritized on the production schedule; please flag urgency at RFQ stage.

Q3. Can you customize non-standard split ratios such as 1:3, 1:9 of 5:95?

Ja. All uneven ratios including 1:3, 1:9, 2:8, 3:7 en 5:95 wurde stipe, along with 2×N configurations. Insertion loss and uniformity meet industry standards; send us the required ratio, pigtail length and connector type and we will confirm specification, price and lead time.

Q4. Do you supply Telcordia GR-1209 / GR-1221 compliant units?

Our PLC splitters are designed and tested to match the reliability methodology defined in Telcordia GR-1209 (passive branching components) and GR-1221 (reliability qualification). Full test reports from accredited third-party labs can be arranged for project bids.

Q5. Do you provide OEM or private-label packaging?

Ja. We produce to your artwork — custom colour boxes, bûtenkarton logo, private-label stickers, spec-sheet inserts and branded manuals. Full OEM/ODM support is standard.

Q6. What is the warranty period and expected service life?

Standard factory warranty is 1 year against manufacturing defect. Design service life is 10 years or longer for mini PLC and 25 years or longer for cassette / box PLC, based on our accelerated ageing test data.

Q7. Which fibre type do you recommend — G.657.A1, G.657.A2 or G.652.D?

We default to G.657.A1 (10 mm minimum bochtradius) rather than G.652.D (15 mm minimum bochtradius), because the tight coiling inside splitter housings will cause additional loss or even fibre breakage with G.652.D. G.657.A2 (7.5 mm minimum bochtradius) is available for the most compact form factors or drop-cable integration.

Q8. Can you provide test videos and quality reports per batch?

Ja. Insertion loss test videos, optional 3D end-face inspection videos and stamped third-party test reports are available on request. Video content can be customized to buyer inspection protocols.

Q9. Do you ship to Russia, Latynsk-Amearika, the Middle East or Africa?

Ja. We currently ship to operators, integrators and distributors across all four regions. LGX modules with the Russia-market mould are a stocked variant. Please advise Incoterms and destination port at RFQ stage — DDP feasibility can be evaluated for selected destinations.
